Hello Folks After spending a nice time in Marseille France we hopped on a plane to Barcelona Spain We took a late flight from Marseille and arrived in Barcelona an hour later The following morning we set out to explore nearby spots at the heart of the city where the famous pedestrian tree lined mall La Rambla is located La Rambla is also the street where the famous public market La Boqueria is located That became a meeting spot where we waited for our nieces Straw and Tuts and our grandniece Kimber to arrive They attended my granddaughters birthday party back in April and after roughly two weeks we met again here in Barcelona After treating us to a wonderful Tapas meal at El Nacional Restaurant which has its own alley leading to it we parted ways near the Casa Battlo one of Antoni Gaudis building masterpieces After viewing just the facade of the building we took our first Metro ride in Barcelona back to La Rambla to spend some more time along the mall We also had some coffee and the world famous Churros con Chocolate in one of the coffee shops fronting La Rambla It was so good After that we bought some groceries at a supermarket across La Rambla from our hotel We always do some light grocery shopping on the first day of any trip not only to get some food and drinks for the hotel room but also to get a feel for what the locals buy in supermarkets It was a very fun packed day and we look forward to the rest of our stay here in beautiful busy and tourist packed Barcelona
